If you have a HiKorea appointment at the Seoul Immigration Office on or after October 19, 2026, do not go to Mok-dong. The office is moving to a brand-new building in Songpa-gu, and the old Mok-dong building stops handling cases from that day. Here is the new address, how to get there by subway and bus, who the office serves, and what changes for your visit.

I’m Jun, a Seoul local. Everything below comes from the official notice posted by the Seoul Immigration Office on October 2, 2026, plus news coverage of the new building. I link every source so you can check it yourself.

The short version: Seoul Immigration Office new address

  • Move date: the new office starts work on Monday, October 19, 2026.

  • New address: 55 Jeongui-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul (서울시 송파구 정의로 55). It sits in the Munjeong-dong legal complex area, near the courts.

  • Old office: the Mok-dong building at 151 Mokdongdong-ro, Yangcheon-gu, no longer handles any work after the move.

  • Questions: call the Immigration Contact Center at 1345.

How to get to the new office

The official notice gives three routes:

  1. Subway: take Line 8 to Munjeong Station (문정역) and leave by Exit 4. It’s about a 10-minute walk.

  2. Bus: get off at the Munjeong Rodeo Street Entrance stop (문정로데오거리입구). It’s about a 15-minute walk.

  3. Village bus Songpa 02 (송파02): get off at Hillstate Echo Songpa (힐스테이트에코송파) or Seoul Korean Medicine Hospital (서울한방병원). It’s only about a 2-minute walk.

Jun’s tip: search “서울출입국·외국인청” or the Korean address “송파구 정의로 55” in Naver Map rather than the English name. In the first weeks after a move, map apps can still point the English name to the old Mok-dong building. If you haven’t set up Naver Map yet, my Naver Map in English guide walks you through it.

Who goes to this office

You visit the immigration office that covers where you live, not where you work. According to EKW’s report on the move, the Seoul Immigration Office covers these areas:

  • Seoul: Yongsan, Seongdong, Gwangjin, Dongjak, Gwanak, Gangnam, Seocho, Songpa and Gangdong districts.

  • Gyeonggi-do: Gwacheon, Seongnam and Hanam.

If you live elsewhere in Seoul, for example north of the river in Jongno or Mapo, you are likely served by a different office. Not sure? Call 1345 before you book.

What’s different at the new building

According to Yonhap News, the new building is designed to fix some long-standing complaints about the old one:

  • More parking: roughly 60 spaces, up from about 25 at Mok-dong. Still, I’d take the subway.

  • One floor for visa and stay services: the residence service counters are combined on the first floor, so less walking between floors.

  • More services in one place: the online residence and visa service center and the 1345 Immigration Contact Center are also moving into the building.

What this means for your HiKorea appointment

Most visits to the immigration office need a reservation on HiKorea’s visit reservation page. Here’s how to read yours:

  • Appointment on October 19, 2026 or later: go to the new Songpa office at 55 Jeongui-ro.

  • Appointment before October 19: the office is still at its current location until the move, so check the address on your reservation.

  • Not sure? Call 1345 and give them your reservation details. It’s free and multilingual.

Jun’s tip: the first week after any Korean office move is busy. Leave early, bring printed copies of everything, and screenshot your reservation in case the signal is weak inside a new building.

What to bring (it hasn’t changed)

The move doesn’t change the paperwork. For a first ARC application you still need your passport, application form, a passport-size photo, the fee, and visa-specific documents. My full checklist is in How to Get Your ARC in Korea. If you just moved apartments, remember the address report deadline: see my 15-day address change guide. You can often do that one at your local community center instead.

Quick checklist before you go

  • My address is in this office's area (or I called 1345)
  • HiKorea reservation booked and screenshotted
  • Heading to 55 Jeongui-ro, Songpa-gu, not Mok-dong
  • Route planned: Munjeong Station Exit 4, or Songpa 02 village bus
  • Passport, ARC (if you have one), photo and documents packed
## Next up and your turn

Next, I’ll cover how to extend your stay in Korea before your visa runs out, and what to do if you’re cutting it close.
